Coffee Bar Worker had the joy of discovering Marlboro Man's son in a state of OD, a few days ago, convulsing in his own aspirated vomit, crumpled on the floor. Heroin.
Marlboro Man has been pulling his greyed, thinning hair out, trying to figure out how to evict his own son from the farm. It's a complicated scenario, where Marlboro Man's mother holds deed to the farm, but for all intents and purposes the farm belongs to Marlboro Man. Mother is a supreme enabler, and in her mid-eighties, so she tired of enabling Heroin Dude Grandson (who had been living with her) and dumped him out on the farm, on Marlboro Man. Problem is, Heroin Dude has been wreaking havoc on the farm, ever since.
So Heroin Dude did himself in, nearly. They got him to the hospital alive, but in renal failure and with aspiration pneumonia. While he lay in OD, his position apparently compromised the nerves or circulation in one of his legs, and it sustained severe tissue damage. They are contemplating an amputation, but the word is not final.
Marlboro Man shared this in Drunk Church the other day, and lamented that he was unable to tell the cops his son was a dealer, because then they could have had a handle on charges to get him into jail. As it is, they will try to work the possession angle. Marlboro Man doesn't want Heroin Dude
back, and can't figure how to rid himself, other than incarceration.
If he lives.
Happy Holidays, from THE DISEASE.
I shall put in a cheerier entry, later. But this was on my mind, at the moment.

Having been in prison, I do not say this lightly, but it can save lives. It saved mine.
It was not prison itself, it was the act of being forced to face the consequences of my actions. The consequence of dealing is prison; marlboro man might be doing his son the ultimate service by not standing in the way.
